| MONDAYS Audition Preparation An audition is an opportunity to showcase who YOU are and what makes YOU unique. Find out what you can do before, during and after your audition to ease your nerves, heighten your focus and command your space so that you can give an audition you’ll be proud of. In this workshop we’ll deal with choosing and performing audition monologues and songs in addition to covering the basics of callbacks. | TUESDAYS Vocal Technique You know you can sing, but how many times during your song have you wondered what it was you should be doing with your hands? Who or what should you be looking at? Should you take a step forward or just stand perfectly still? In this workshop where we approach the song as a monologue, we’ ll employ various techniques that will help you to successfully act your song. From dealing with an accompanist and knowing just when to start acting to finding personal connections and physical ease while singing, this workshop will give you invaluable tools that you can apply to every musical audition and performance. | THURSDAYS Dance For The Stage Students study the various styles of dance for the stage while learning how to follow choreography. | FRIDAYS Mask Making CFT provides the materials and YOU add your imagination to make a one of a kind mask of an animal, a character, or a person. Create it the way you see it! | A summer version of CFT's popular ACT II Music Theatre class, students will have the opportunity to rehearse for a one-act musical while learning the fundamentals of music theatre. As an added bonus students will also have the opportunity to be involved in their own set design, working CFT's Technical Director, Steve Mountzoures! Directed by Lori Solak, CFT's Artistic Director, our Summer of Music Theatre program will focus on: ~audition skills ~script/scene study and memorization skills ~character development ~basic dance ~proper vocal technique ~set design & scenic art Each session ends with a performance for friends and family. Summer of Music Theatre is open to students ages 7-13. Limit 25 students per session.
