Kevin Barlowski holds (in his left hand) a B.A. in Theatre Education
from Emerson College and carefully balanced in his right, a certificate
in Musical Theatre Performance from Circle in the Square Theatre
School in New York City. A core faculty member at the Greater
Hartford Academy of the Arts, Kevin teaches in the Theatre and
Musical Theatre departments. He has directed and musically directed
numerous productions for the Middle, High School and collegiate
demographic,ranging from “A Gaggle of Saints” and “Guys and Dolls”
to “Gypsy” and“Sweeney Todd.” An active accompanist, he has
played for equity auditions and New York productions, including “The
World Goes ‘Round.”Kevin has worked in conjunction with Performing
Arts Programs and Hartford Stage as both educator and accompanist
and continues to be involved in Unified Theatre, an organization
dedicated to discovering the on stage abilities of individuals with and
without special needs.As an actor, he has performed with Playhouse
on Park in their children’s productions “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie”
and “I Think I Can,” as well as “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown,” as
Linus. He portrayed Daniel in “The Complete Works of William
Shakespeare(Abridged)” throughout Thailand. (It went as well as it
sounds…)Involved in New York and Boston theatre for the past six
years,favorite roles include Caldwell B. Cladwell (Urinetown),
Lysander/Francis Flute/First Fairy (A Midsummer Night’s Dream),
Baker(Into the Woods) and Ren McCormack (Footloose, Harvard
University).He has also had the privilege of performing in Broadway for
a New America and is elated to pair with the breadth of resources
offered by CFT!
